The rise of electronic reading platform, sparked a revolution in reading community, now is the critical period of change of the reading pattern. Now is the era in whichthe information explosion, huge amounts of information has become a burden, andpeople always disturbed by all kinds of interference, all this make them more and morerestless, as the result, they hardly read deep. Therefore, people urgently need to bequiet, and began to pursuit for immersion, a state of isolation in the hustle and bustle,a state of extreme focus. In the meanwhile, printed books has become the past, staticebook is popular, rich media ebook are budding. Including voice, video and other richmedia, the interactive and multimedia ebook provides a new opportunity for immersion. But for rich media reading interface, there is no appropriate design method for the immersion.Innovation point of this article is, by combining the flow theory, the cognitiveload theory, and the multimedia learning cognitive psychology theory for the researchof rich media immersive reading, the article point out that there are two kinds ofimmersion, thinking immersion and sensory immersion. In thinking immersion, thereare imaginary thinking immersion and reflective thinking immersion. Thinking inreading is the typical characteristic which makes it much different from watching TV,playing games and other activities. Thinking immersion is the design goal forimmersive reading experience. In addition, after analyzing the impact factors ofimmersion, this paper points out that attention is the key to immersion. At this point, based on the above views, the article proposed the immersivereading design methods and principles based on attention, and make the relevantdesign, hope it can do something for the further research of this field in the future.
