With the rapid aging of the population in China, cardiovascular disease is a serious threat to thehealth of residents. As a common and frequently-occurring disease, cardiovascular disease’sscientific diagnosis requires more clinical data. Researches show that real-time dynamic monitoringhas an extremely important role for the diagnosis of cardiovascular disease. This paper presents asystem which based on the body area network (BAN) to acquire the physiological signal ofcardiovascular. The system makes a daily health care at home through constructing a wirelesssensor network, monitoring and analyzing the human physiological parameters of cardiovascular inreal-time, and provides health guidance, emergency alarm automatically and other functions.Firstly, this paper describes current researches in the field of wireless sensor network andphysiological signal acquisition and put forward the design framework of the system. Secondly,according to the requirements of physiological signal monitoring system, this paper focuses on twokey technologies: the front-end physiological parameters acquisition and the construction of homewireless sensor network, and analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of each technology. Thefront-end physiological parameters acquisition mainly collects blood pressure, heart rate, bodytemperature and the other physiological signals and gives the corresponding hardware and softwaredesign. The designed wearable pulse sensor uses a new method based on velocity measurements toachieve convenient measurement of ambulatory blood pressure. Then according to the requirementsof home wireless sensor network, this paper analyzes and compares several commonly usedwireless network communication technologies, and select the appropriate wireless communicationtechnology to construct a home wireless sensor network for the system to transmit physiologicaldata with the comprehensive assessment of the power, cost, compatibility, reliability and the otherfactors.Finally, this paper designs an embedded terminal server based on ARM development platformthat can analyze and process the physiological data which is transmitted by the wireless sensornetworks and display the change of curves in real-time. It provides references for the remote healthmonitoring and handheld medical device in the future.The system basically realizes the various functions of front-end physiological parametersacquisition, construction of home wireless sensor network and the interface of embedded terminalequipment. The part modules of the system design independently. The system designs wearablephysiological sensor and construct the home wireless sensor network bases on Zigbee, which isflexible, low power consumption, low cost and easy operation and can meet the user’s needs of home health care in the real-time. There is very important significance for disease prevention andhome health care to reduce health care costs and ease the lack of social medical resources.
