3D virtual scene roaming system is a computer system based on Virtual Realitytechnology (referred to as VR). It generates3D scene by using computer technology.Users can interact with virtual scene via various interactive devices. With thedevelopment of computer simulation and virtual reality technology,3D virtual sceneroaming system is widely used in military simulation, industrial manufacturing, urbanplanning, geographic information system, the innovation education, etc.The paper constructs a vivid geographic environment which on the basis ofanalysis and research of scene roaming theory. And the geographic environment and theuser can real-time interaction as well. The user can observe and experience the virtualenvironment by the theory.The main content of this paper is as follows:1.Research on key technology of3D scene roaming system. Focusing on LOD(Level of Detail) of scene simplified, texture mapping, and roaming collision detectedtechnology.2.Propound new LOD technology based on visual attention. Compared withtraditional technology, new LOD technology saves more computing time, greatlyimproved efficiency, illustrate scene realistically as well.3.Use particle system to simulate rain, snow, fog haze and so on. Using texturetransformation to simulate drifting clouds, trees blowing by wind, and flowing water.Construct an interactive3D roaming system based on Vega Prime. Test the system,make a test report, and analyze the test result.
