Due to the development of the economy and society in our country, in the medicalarea, because of the patients’ higher requirement of superior medical treatment serviceand the rapidly increasing number of medical instruments, and especially thepopularization of information technology, the medical information system has graduallybeen used in hospitals. Hospital informatization has become the inevitable requirementof the development of hospitals. The HL7, as the international general standard ofmessage exchange in medical area and within the hospital, is playing an increasinglyimportant role. The data exchange and transmission among systems based on HL7hasbecome the most important way of constructing an informationalized hospital.In this thesis, the HL7medical message standard has been researched thoroughly,including two aspects:1. deeply analyze the HL7standard message structure anddecomposition, as well as the application of HL7standard message encountered inpractical work;2. illustrate how to implement HL7standard in national medicalmessage system, combined with the current actual situation of the medical industry, andpreliminarily investigate two implementation schemes which are “Engine” and “Ready”.Based on above HL7implementation methods, this thesis develops a hospital messagesystem of HL7. Each function module of this system can transmit message through HL7,thus realizes functions such as for doctor looking up patient’s information, issuingprescription and inspection application forms, transmitting or checking inspection report,etc. This thesis provides the whole structure design of system, the adopted techniquescheme and design of function modules, develops detailed database structure combinedwith HL7standard message which are used in system, and identifies the correspondingrelationship between data segment and HL7segment which implements the convenientHL7message construction and storage. This thesis also presents implementationprocedure and source code of main system modules, and expresses in detail aboutsending and receiving HL7message. At last, an examination of implemented system hasbeen done firstly to test the function of each module and verify whether they can satisfyuser’s requirements, secondly to test the stability and load capability and checkout module performance reliability under high load situation.The hospital message system developed in this thesis implements functions bytransmitting message among modules through HL7standard message, meanwhilemakes benefit endeavor for how to unify the hospital message system data interface byHL7standard.
