During times of social transition within societies in China, Food safety incident has become one of the prominent social contradictions. Current food safety issues are the social focus of attention from the government level to the general public, and the rise of food safety reports become a bonanza of media reports, transition the distribution of benefits and risk allocation intertwined, the risk faced by the media is more complex. On the one hand, if the mass media didn’t report the news in time, which would be subjected to criticism, but excessive and improper interpretation of the media can also cause panic among the public, undermining the credibility of the media itself. Food safety reports showing issues evolve, the reported impact and increased risk controversial issues highlighted features. The mass media play in the coverage of food safety environmental monitoring, supervision by public opinion, agenda setting, the function and role of the definition is present, to some extent, promote the standard of the food industry, policy formulation and implementation.
