Job-hunting programs emerged in response to employment pressure and competitive job market. It is a program which is show-experience oriented and integrates education into entertainment and aesthetics. It sets the participants as "businessmen" and clearly defines the program a workplace, aiming at providing guidance in employment and career survival. Job-hunting programs have been long existed in China, while its audience rating has not been to the top until the broadcast of "Only You" and "The Capable Deserve" in the year-end of2010and that of "Step by Step" and "Stand Out" in2012. Especially the ratings of "Only You" reached as high as1.21in the survey of35cities in July2011."Only You" is targeted with finite audiences and can turn a TV program into a job-hunting "Show"The paper studies on the construction of job-hunting shows from the elaboration on that of background, pattern and cause."Only You", a disputable job-hunting program, is taken as a study case in the writing. Based on Pseudo-environment Theory by Lippmann and Spectacle Theory by Guydebord, it exposes the nature and construction pattern of the show. The introduction part mainly introduces the background, significance and methods of the study and the current situation of job-hunting programs. The first chapter centers on the construction background of job-hunting shows and it expounds the "reality show" and the origin and local transformation of job-hunting programs from "talents" to "masses".The second chapter develops with the construction pattern of the show. Taking "Only You" as an example, through comparative text analysis of shows in May,2011and2012, it shows that the program takes on a different look from the real one by employing the construction pattern of ideal "pseudo". After the analysis, the ideal pseudo are primarily represented in the following aspects:first, female has much higher rates in job-hunting; second, it requires more competence than degree of the candidates; third, intentional evading from health discrimination caused during job-hunting. Besides, the ideal pseudo are also reflected in the simple job link, face-to-face conversation to the boss and the raise of sensitive questions etc. Another construction pattern is shown by modeling media spectacles. Spectacles in audio visual, performance, topic and resist are all embodied in the show, which contribute to a symbol world consisted of entertainment, information and consumption. The third chapter reveals the cause of construction from the study of TV itself, enterprises and audience. The programs employ the methods of "popularization" to pursue higher audience rating to make more profits and to encourage more consumption; enterprises do propagandas through media to catch the attention of the audiences of the show; for audiences, what attracts them most is the show-experience which is stronger, more real, comprehensive and charming than on the scene. The fourth chapter emphasizes the reflection of such a phenomenon that job-hunting programs are to a certain extent to make a show.In the time of supreme entertainment, everything is entertainment-oriented under the "pseudo-environment". The "show" surrounded by entertainment becomes the real purpose for job-hunting programs. In order to strike a balance between entertainment and ethics, job-hunting programs should enhance self-regulation and the audiences have to improve the media literacy to raise media awareness and to present media attitude. One should tell the pseudo in the show from the reality in life and find the way to enjoy programs neither shunning away from mass media nor being obsessed in it.
