High-speed spindle is one of the core components in the process of aspheric device fabrication. The accuracy of speed control will directly affect geometric accuracy of the processing parts. Spindle speed controller generally does not have a high accuracy. This paper presented and designed a high-speed spindle controller of precision grinding machines which is based on adaptive filtering algorithm.This paper used the Monte Carlo measure to simulate the performance of adaptive filtering algorithm based on MATLAB simulation platform. It used the DSP Builder to implement this algorithm on FPGA platform. Using the M/T method to measure the rotational speed and selecting a specific type of optical encoder to obtain speed signal. It used the method of SVPWM to adjust the speed of high-speed spindle. Finally, it designed a management module based on ARM and achieved a good human-computer interaction control. The results showed that rotational speed control accuracy of the high-speed spindle is higher than0.06%. The speed control error is less than the required0.1%in the process of high-order aspheric machining.
