The situation that traditional artificial management pattern already can not adapt tothe development of modern mould enterprises has been caused by mould industries’characteristics of many varieties and small batch, making that the application ofinformation technology become inevitable. Based on the analysis of the characteristicsof the mould industry and the actual demand of enterprise, the paper combined CBRtechnology and Gantt chart with mold production process and advanced a subject thatresearch and development of mold production management system for mold productionprocess. Main conclusions are as following:First of all, combining with the characteristics of mold production, the detailedanalysis for the demand of system has been made. The client/server (C/S) structure ofthe system framework has been established and specifically elaborated the function ofeach module. Then, the overall process of the system has been explained in detail.Concept design of technology library was established by E-R model diagram and logicdesign was realized using SQL Server database management system.Secondly, key technologies used in the system were studies. According to theprocess correlation constraints and time constraints inside and outside workpiece,production scheduling has been realized by using Gantt chart. Processing method wasdesigned by CBR and expression and retrieval of case was researched, efficiency ofparts process was improved effectively.Next, the NC machining processes of the electrode were studied. According to theclassification of the electrode, processing template matching to each type of electrodewas established. The secondary development for UG NX software was made usingMFC and MenuScript, realizing the establishment of coordinate system and geometryand the invoking of processing template and accomplishing automatic programming ofelectrode.Finally, verification of feasibility for the mold production management system and automatic programming of electrode using an example and the operational process ofsystem was explained.
