Study And Application Of PDM In Research And Development Projects Of Dalian Institute Company

In recent years, product development process becomes more complex among manufacturing companies with the increasingly fierce market competition. For higher requirements of the product development cycles, enterprises gradually pay more attention to the project management capabilities of the product data management system (Product Data Management, PDM). Teamcenter, as an enterprise collaborative product development solution, provides mechanisms for research and design project lifecycle management, corporate research and design projects according to the type and characteristics of the business process life cycle model to build the project. Effective management can be achieved during the project started, planning, teamwork, task execution, process evaluation, technical assessment, monitoring project progress and project deliverables process. Project management for the enterprise provides a more comprehensive solution.The main research in this paper includes the following aspects:(1) The background, trends and the need for research of the project management system based on PDM were analyzed. The basic theories of project management were summarized. The project management content was interpreted from various aspects. Based on this, the project management and PDM system integration issues were analyzed, also some research was performed on the integrated and systematic approach of the project management.(2) According to the PDM architecture and workflow management theory, the PDM workflow technology was performed to support the project management module and combine project management and PDM systems. The existing PDM system resources were used to complete the functional design and implementation of the project management module.(3) Based on the main problems of the project management during products research and design process in Dalian Research Institution company and combining with the needs of enterprise product development, the project management information model and project model were established. Through a practical application to a case, the validity of the main theoretical approaches and their technical feasibility and effectiveness was demonstrated.
