The Research And Application Of An EPC Workflow Model Based Construction Coordinated Project Management System

A construction project consists of several phases with different organizations concerned. It is difficult to control effectively by the owners, and its information sharing and cooperation among the organizations are inefficient. So a kind of effective project management system is in dire need. Based on the requirement, the study is focused on the research of Cooperative Project Management (CPM), to realize the completed and effective management of the construction project via the Lifecycle Project Management (LPM) for the owners and realize the cooperative work between the organizations concerned.Due to the one character of construction project, which has a great number of resource objects, information objects and organizations, and the fact that Cooperative works are supported by the process workflow, the EPC based workflow model has been used, and also has been expanded to support the material flow based on the process flow. Due to the other character of construction project, which could hardly reuse the model of another project, I bring forward an arithmetic that could transform between EPC workflow model and Gantt chart. In the usage of the arithmetic, we could complete the workflow modeling when we complete the project programming.We part the EPC Workflow Model Based Construction Coordinated Project Management System into two parts: one is Project Programming and Control Subsystem based on C/S architecture, which supports LPM in practice and supports IPM among different projects and information sharing with enterprise systems in range; the other is Project Execution Subsystem bases on B/S architecture, which uses web-based technology and networking computer technology to help the executor manage project execution and enhance cooperation ability. Then system architecture is analyzed and detailed, and the class framework is presented.Based on our system, project plan, IMP and CPM of Construction Projects can be supported well, and its efficiency is improved. At last of this paper, we enumerate some real project data of using of the updated edition named CSCEC Coordinated Project Management System v2.0 in a certain Engineering Bureau of CSCEC. And we analyzed some input/output parameters of the system. At the last, the system development is conceived.
