| In the gas field, with the development of towns and the increasing number of urban population, an increasingly large number of gas users, the traditional manual meter reading has been unable to meet industry needs, and emerging pre-paid IC card intelligent gas meter also gradually exposes some defects:unable to monitor the usage of the gas in real time; User hoarding gas volume and unable to update and adjust the price; Gas valve is shut out, stopping gas supply if gas runs out.This requires a new automatic meter management system to solve these problems the gas company and the user are facing.For this kind of situation, this paper developed a gas meter reading system based on wireless WaveMesh ad-hoc network technology and GPRS wireless communication network technology. System consists of three parts:intelligent gas meter with an electronic controller, concentrator and remote management center. Intelligent gas meter communicates with concentrator by short-range wireless WaveMesh ad-hoc network. Concentrator communicates with remote management center by GPRS network. The main work and achievements are as follows:1) On the hardware side, this paper designs electronic controller based on RF module embedded WaveMesh protocol in the intelligent gas meter and concentrator based on RF module and GPRS module.2) On the software side, this paper designs single chip microcomputer software in intelligent gas meter and concentrator and the PC software GPRS module of remote management center.3) According to the needs of data collection and management, System offers two-way transmission. The system designs communication protocol and frame format between intelligent gas meter, concentrator and remote management center. Gas related data collected by intelligent gas meter is uploaded to the concentrator through wireless WaveMesh ad-hoc network, gathered by concentrator, and then transferred to the remote management center through GPRS network. Remote management center can also sends orders to intelligent gas meter through the concentrator.The test of the whole meter reading system shows that the system can realize the function of automatic meter reading. The paper makes a summary in the end, and puts forward some prospects of further research. |
