Research Of Remote Wireless Meter Reading System Based On GPRS

Automatic Meter Reading is a new technology, which integrated data collection, transmission and processing, it is more widely used with the deepening reform of the intelligent power grid. Aiming at the study of our country, this paper brings forward a GPRS remote wireless automatic meter reading system based on J2ME. The system adopts Siemens TC65 wireless communication module as data processing module and GPRS data transmission terminal, the meter data can be transmitted to the control center according to TCP/IP protocol, which is safe and reliable. Meter data are stored regularly in order to be downloaded and analyzed as needed. The system developments costs low and can realize remote monitor and real-time analysis for the power data. The installation is flexible and not restricted by line. The software adopts JAVA multithreading design, runs stable and has certain exception handling capability. It can be updated by OTAP function, which is easy to maintain.
