This thesis demostrates the programme and advantages of GPON+FTTH connect mode in district communication network, and illustrated concrete solutions based on the present situation which features low speed,unitary service and less fusion in information technology and communication. FTTH connecting mode is applied more and more widely with the triple play developiing trend and the low connecting speed; XPON has low price and flexible networking,and is obviously better suited than others in cell comuunication. The author propsed that XPON provide cost-effective solutions in FTTH and telecommunication convergence at present.In order to achieve the solutions above,the emergence and development of GPON is introduced in more detail, includiing technical feature, System Structure and network structure,also the comparision of GPON and PON to illustrate the advantages of GPON.In addition, Basic functions, operating principle, form of encryption, reusing mechanisms of GPON has detailed descriptions, and registration processes between OLT and ONU, QoS service, dynamic bandwide allocation (DBA) are also mentioned.The solution of software and hardware, in cell telecommunication convergence system was designed based on GPON operating principleand and realities of situation in residential quarter. The hardware solution is abtained based on actual survey in district, and resolved optical cable laying problem and support of physics in communication system, also spared electric cable and lower the cost. The software solution solved the concrete realization of convergence communication system in district, with the GPON+FTTH and FTTB composite medium structure, meets effective the variety requirement of cell service.The GPON+FTTH connecting mode requires less optical fiber and InterFace of PON, can supply High-speed optical connection with low cost in cell convergence communicating. With the growing demand for audio, data and video service and information and communication technologies, the GPON+FTTH comnnecting mode can provide high band-width and technologies flexibility and stability with lower cost rather than other solutions.mainstream products.and their technical features are mentioned,and ZTE’s GPON products are selected to realize the concrete solutions with more in detail. The test results meet the prospective results well. The monitor and management system of network is proposed in order to monitor the falt in network in real time.
