Precision Agriculture is the main trend of global agriculture development in21st century.Variable Rate Fertilization is an important way of using this kind of technique. The traditionalfertilizer application in our country is based on experience of farmers. A lot of fertilizer can not beabsorbed by plants due to extra fertilizer. And the extra fertilizer would pollute environments. Itcouldn’t meet the needs of agricultural modernization of our country. Therefore changing thetraditional way of fertilizer application is imperative for sustainable development. The prescriptionmap of variable rate fertilization is one of the focuses of studying at present. This method is thatvariable rate fertilization prescription map leads variable rate fertilization machine to completevariable fertilization in the field with GPS precision orientation.Based on the theory of variable rate fertilization in the world, Software engineering and GIStechnology, This paper studied and developed a ComGIS-based Prescription System for Variable ratefertilization in precision agriculture in order to realize the variable rate cultivation in the field underthe direction of fertilization prescription. The system runs on Windows plat, and is developed byVisual C++6.0and MapObjects2.0. The system completes ordinary kriging interpolation method.Based on soil nutrient data in the field, The system makes soil nutrient space variation map withordinary kriging interpolation method, Based crop yield data each year, The system makes crop goalyield map with ordinary kriging interpolation method, Based soil nutrient variation map and cropgoal yield map, The system makes prescription map of variable rate fertilization according to rightgoal yield fertilization model. The system sets up fertilization model database, and can managedifferent fertilization model in our country, The system is in favor of extension and application of thesystem. The system completes to be able to manage different fertilization knowledge. The systemcompletes to be able to make fertilization grid according to given a direction.The system will have a great help for extension of precision agriculture technique.
