As we all know, the environment is the livelihood carrier of people, and with the enhancement of people’s life style, the request of changing home environment is becoming more and more serious. If we want to live in a comfortable and warm home environment, perceiving and cogitating of it is first needed, and only after having the full detail of it, can people carry on the adjustment. Thus, the home environment monitoring system that integration of wireless sensor technology has been widely concerned, considering to above functions.Based on this, this paper takes home environment monitoring system as the main research object, in order to design a home environment monitoring system based on ZigBee technology, by considering the environment information with safety information that is closely related to people in home environment. This system collects home environment information mainly through the distribution of sub nodes in the environment, which are always different types of multi-sensor, and transmits the collected information to the monitoring center through ZigBee wireless network. It can intelligent adjust temperature, humidity, light and realize security monitoring of the home environment by setting as automatic or manual, in order to achieve the intelligent home life. In addition, taking into account the battery life of sub nodes and the real home environment, this paper builds the scheme of home environment monitoring system by using the energy-saving control of sub nodes. This article work mainly launches from the following four aspects:(1) researches application environment of home environment monitoring system and gives the minimum technical requirements. Chooses ZigBee as networking communication way of this paper, through a comprehensive comparison of wire and wireless communications technology.(2) builds the whole scheme of home environment monitoring system by using the sub nodes energy saving method, and establish its main function.(3) designs the hardware and software of ZigBee central node and sub nodes based on MSP430MCU and CC2520RF transceiver chip, and temperature and humidity control, intelligent lighting and home security are achieved.(4) achieves the interface of home environment monitoring system to facilitate the management and control, and have a test on the system by using the interface.
