Design Of Smart Home Environment Monitoring System Based On ARM And ZigBee

The Smart Home is based on variety of technologies development and marketdemand, and it’s has a huge market. The Smart Home system is to collect all kinds offamily communications equipments related to information, household electronicappliances and home security devices via a bus bar to a centralized part of a familyintelligent systems or a remote control center, which controls and manages familyaffairs, and keeps these family facilities coordinating to the residential environment.Because of the Smart home system, the quality of people’s life has been greatlyimproved.This essay is mainly studying for the Smart home environment monitoringsystem, focusing on the problems and deficiencies which high cost and complexity ofthe installation that exist in the smart home system. With the combination of ZigBeeand embedded technology, Arm11for the server, C/S mode for network architecture,PC and the prevailing smart phone for the client, a new type of smart homeenvironment monitoring system is designed. The system consists of wireless sensornetwork, home gateway and client. The wireless sensor networks is formed by thetechnology of ZigBee, with the star network topology structure, and taking CC2530of IT company as ZigBee chip, which is responsible for collecting householdenvironmental data. The home gateway is constructed in the form of embeddedsystems, taking the ARM11as the processor, making ethernet build Embedded Server.It is mainly to complete the analysis and storage of environmental data. The clientuses the smart phone and PC. The client has a friendly interface. Users can remotereal-time monitoring of the home environment by client. Compared with thetraditional smart home environment monitoring system, it has the followingcharacteristics:1. ZigBee technology is short delay, low cost, low power consumptionand self-organization. Using ZigBee technology to set up within the family networkand make the whole system easy to install, debug, easy maintenance so as to greatlydecrease the system cost and has great extension.2. the Home gateway is built underthe Embedded Technology, choosing arm11as the processor, which make a furtherdecrease of system cost and power consumption.3. the use of smart phones as a clientenhances the flexibility of the system, and allow us to monitor the home environmenteverywhere. It has been tested that this system is characterized by safety, reliability, real-time,extensibility, low power consumption, low cost, convenience and flexibility, whichhas achieved the expected goals.
