The media as the dissemination of news and information between countries, thediplomatic activities of the major media, plays the role of the “window" in the spreadof the country-specific information. How newspaper more objective, truthful,comprehensive to be presentation of the current situation of China, to have a positiveeffect gradually on political or public diplomacy for China becomes a research focus ofthe National Communication, International Communications and National PublicDiplomacy in recent years. Aimed at primarily using text content on the news-relatedChina, this article studies involving the characteristics and propagation of internationalnews reports, by a random sample of2012more than20,000news about "China ".Study findings have shown that China-related reports including the followingfeatures: To some extent, There is a positive correlation between The press attentionand the amount of reports concerning China on the North American newspaper, andthe enhancement level of China’s national image,so does the degree of detail reportednews;2012China-related reports are in an objective–based. Although a limited amountof negative reports, the various reporting skills of guided reports are more subtle andclever than before, bringing great dissemination effort, The reports concerning Chinaon the North American newspaper show significant “two-pass encoding” feature, all ofwhich will undoubtedly have a negative impact on China’s national imageThe results of content analyzing China-related reports from the North Americannewspaper present a China’s national image of " powerful but unfair" in economic,"barbaric "and” authoritarian " in politic," serious problem " in human rights," focuson exchange" in culture," wealth inequality "in society. There are political andhistorical reasons, but also economic, culture and values and other factors. Hence, wemust be strengthened to enhance the spread of external force, credibility and influencefor Chinese newspaper to change the stereotyped prejudices on reports concerningChina, to establish a Chinese national image of peaceful, civilized, opening the doorand developing.
