Research On China-related Reports In Russian Newspaper(2012-2019)

In the context of globalization,national image is related to the country's international influence.A good national image is conducive to the development of the country,and has a positive effect on attracting investment,opening up markets,and strengthening national cooperation and exchanges.In international communication,the media is an important tool for national image construction.China and Russia are neighbors,we have close economic and trade cooperation.Since 2012,especially after Xi Jinping was elected as the President of China,leaders of China and Russia have met frequently,visits between China and Russia have increased,and Sino-Russian relations have continued to deepen.In 2019,the heads of China and Russia decided to upgrade their relations to a "China-Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership of Cooperation in the New Era".However,the Russian people have a certain dissatisfaction and cautious attitude towards China,and there are stereotypes.Therefore,a good grasp of the Chinese national image is of great significance.Understanding the image of China created by the mainstream Russian media will help improve the Russian people's perception of China and play an important role in the sustained and friendly development of bilateral relations.This article combines qualitative and quantitative research methods,taking "Russia Newspaper" as an example,analyzes and studies reports on China issues from 2012 to 2019,clarifies China's image of China in the mainstream Russian media,raises the problems,and gives suggestions and countermeasures.The study found that reports of the Russia Newspaper on China mostly focused on political and economic aspects,and mainly focused on the interests of their own country,but the depth and breadth of the coverage were insufficient.The overall reports are positive and neutral,and few negative reports focus on reports on ordinary Chinese people and the social environment.The image of the country created by Russia Newspaper is mainly: politically,China is a friendly and credible neighbor;economically,China is a fast-growing powerful partner;socially,China has a stable living environment and a novel social status;Culturally and technologically,China is developing rapidly,and Chinese brands are gradually becoming international.
