RFID is a new auto-ID technology, has the advantages in volume, speed, capacity, transmission distance and reuse, is popular in all fields. With the development of theinformation age and the improvement of RFID technology, it becomes a research hot topic,it’s application fields continue to expand. The design of a passive2.45GHz passive RFID transponder chip is researched in thisdissertation. First, according to Maxwell’s equations, the fundamentals of RFID system arediscussed, the energy acquisition mode and mutual communication constraints of2.45GHzpassive transponder are researched. Second, the analysis and design of the2.45GHz passivetransponder whole structure are given. On the basis of these, the key technical problems ofanalog front end of the passive tag chip, such as rectifier circuit, reference circuit, voltagestabilizing circuit, clock generation circuit, are discussed. Then, digital basebandframework based on the ISO/IEC18000-4protocol is analyzed, design idea of the keymodule, such as decoding module, CRC module and coding module, is given. At last, thewhole layout of the chip is achieved. In this paper, by using HeJian0.18CMOS mix-signal chip design process, the overallIC design and verification and validation of its performance are completed. Test resultsshow that in the distance of3m, namely the input power of42μw, the chip can worksteadily, meet the design requirements.
