With the development of time, The research of information science experienced by the"literature-centric" to "system-centric" again "user-centric" paradigm shift. Before the rise ofthe user-centric study, psychological research has made certain achievements in the field ofhuman behavior study, of which Lewin’s human behavior formula B=f(P, E)is particularlyfamous. In this paper, information retrieval behavior was studied, Lewin’s field theory as thetheoretical framework, and learnt from the theoretical results of personality psychology, socialpsychology and cognitive psychology. In this paper, the influence factors of information retrieval behavior were divided into theuser’s subject factors and environmental factors. The user’s subject factors include the user’s personality traits and information retrievalcapabilities. The user’s personality traits include neuroticism, extraversion, openness toexperience, agreeableness and conscientiousness. They are the core part of the user’s subjectfactors which have across time and across situations stability. The information retrievalcapabilities of the users include information consciousness, information technology capabilityand the ability to identify information. These factors are flexible. They could get a largeincrease in a short term through education, training and other ways. They are the external partof the user’s subject factors. In accordance with the field theory, environmental factors can be divided into theexternal environment and psychological environment. External environment is the outsideworld which has an objective nature. The psychological environment is formed by theinteraction of the user’s subject factors and the external environment which including Physicalenvironment, social environment, conceptual environment and information environment. The user’s subject factors and the external environment interact with each other by themotor perceptual region. The motor perceptual region including four movement andperceptual process: selection, evocation, manipulation and cognitive transformation. The usesshape the external environment into the psychological environment by selection, evocationand manipulation, interact with the psychological environment by cognitive transformation. In this paper, the influence factors of information retrieval behavior and the interactionbetween them were analyzed. On the basis of the analysis, the model of influence factors ofinformation retrieval was proposed.
