Under the digital environment,more and more academic information resources are separated from the printed form of paper,transforming into digitalized and networked resources,which updating rapidly and can be found much more conveniently.College students are the groups that use more academic information.And academic information retrieval is an important part of undergraduates' learning and life.It is of great significance to further enrich the information retrieval theory and improve the information literacy of the undergraduates.Therefore,this paper,taking the research status of academic information retrieval behavior of undergraduate as the starting point,centers on the whole process of academic information retrieval behavior of undergraduates,conducts an experimental research on academic information retrieval behavior of undergraduates,including the characters,patterns and influencing factors.First of all,literature review is used to analyze the academic retrieval behavior of undergraduates both at home and abroad.On this basis,the following three questions are put forward:(1)the behavior patterns and characteristics of Chinese college undergraduates' academic information retrieval process;(2)the influence of emotion and cognition on the retrieval failure behavior of Chinese undergraduates in the process of retrieval of academic information;(3)the main factors and external factors affecting the academic information retrieval of undergraduates in China.Five retrieval tasks were designed according to the questions raised.The major results are presented as below: The major results are presented as below:(1)before their retrieval,undergraduates will choose different retrieval tools and construct different retrieval styles according to different retrieval tasks.(2)when selecting the retrieval results,undergraduates tend to choose the results of the pre search order;(3)In the course of retrieval,undergraduates show three obvious patterns of retrieval behavior,namely,retrieval mode reconfiguration mode,retrieval platform replacement mode,browsing and web page mode.(4)retrieval failure behavior include: unable to retrieve the required information;the download path of retrieval results cannot be found;retrieval results and task requirements don't match;(5)there are two influencing factors: main factors and external factors.The main factors include four aspects: educational background,personal emotional factors,personal retrieval behavior experience and personal English level.The external factors mainly include the interpersonal network,the availability of academic information resources,the usability of the retrieval platform,the situation of the library resources construction in the University,the training of information retrieval knowledge,and the resource collection,resource charges and so on.Finally,combined with the conclusions of the study,some suggestions and countermeasures are put forward to improve the academic information retrieval ability of college students,improve the library's academic information service and optimize the retrieval tools.
