With the development of computer and network technology, the manufacturing enterprisesare facing the international market competition. Enterprise informationization is an importantmeasure to win competitive advantages and improve comprehensive competition of an enterprise.In the process of enterprise informationization, enterprise resource modeling is an important wayto manage scientifically and analyze enterprise resources. Enterprise process modeling can beused to simulate, analyze and evaluate the existing business process. Besides, resource andprocess are important parts of enterprise core capabilities. Therefore, establishing the models hasimportant significance for enterprise information sharing.Nevertheless, sharing technical expertise among organizations is a complex task becauseindustrial information is highly heterogeneous. To overcome this difficulty, using standardizeddata models based on ISO10303, ISO15531, and ISO13584standards is proposed as a solution.However, models within them grow separately from a semantic modeling perspective;consequently, an integrated framework is needed not only to facilitate data sharing but also toenhance cooperation in the extended enterprise. Therefore, based on MANDATE standard, amethod is proposed to build the enterprise manufacturing resource model and process model.The main contents are as follows:(1) Based on the deep research and analysis to ISO15531MANDATE standard, thepurpose and meaning of this standard is made clear, and four main models in MANDATEstandard and their comprehensive application is summarized.(2) On the basic of the analysis of the meaning of manufacturing resources, manufacturingresources are classified reasonably and a manufacturing resource classification model isestablished. Through the analysis of the manufacturing resource modeling process, enterpriseresource management information model is established based on MANDATE standard.(3) The enterprise manufacturing process modeling is further researched and analyzed.Based on MANDATE standard, a manufacturing process information model is established.(4) With Visual Basic as front desk interface development tools, the directory trees of the resource and process model are built. Taking SQL Server2000database as background datamanagement tool, through the mapping of established EXPRESS models to SQL database, therelationship views of enterprise resources and process models are established.
