Virtual Enterprise is a advanced manufacturing organizational form which was proposed to adapt to rapid response. Manufacturing resources scheduling process is the important stages in virtual enterprise operations. Manufacturing resource scheduling process of Virtual enterprise is important in enterprise operations. Improvements of scheduling efficiency will greatly improve the overall operational efficiency of virtual enterprise. In the current network conditions, the virtual enterprise operations are lack of a reliable and effective mechanism for manufacturing resource management. So manufacturing resources information of member enterprises is hard to control and virtual enterprise manufacturing resource efficient scheduling is not achieved. Compared with the existing network, grid is characteristics of scalability, interoperability, adaptiveness and dynamics. Using resources search function and information services which grid provides, virtual enterprise can be organized rapidly and response quickly in view of application request. Grid will be used in manufacturing resource scheduling of Virtual Enterprise, that help strengthen the controlling information and state of manufacturing resource of Virtual Enterprise. Resource scheduling platform based on the manufacturing grid, manufacturing grid resource modeling and manufacturing resources optimization and matching were researched in view of several key issues in resource scheduling of virtual manufacturing enterprise in this paper. Its main contents and the results are as follows:(1) Virtual enterprise resource scheduling platform based on the manufacturing grid was researched. Resource scheduling platform architecture was proposed on the basis of manufacturing grid. Platform model was designed based on agent technology and the Globus Toolkits, and then platform workflow was given.(2) Manufacturing grid resource descriptions and encapsulation were researched. From the point of resource sharing, resource classification, attributes, relationships and resource levels were taken into consideration to descript manufacturing resource, which are in support of manufacturing resources optimization and matching.(3) Matching and optimization of manufacturing resources were researched. Firstly, manufacturing resource evaluation index system was established based on the T, Q, C, S. Secondly, a three-stage manufacturing resource nodes optimization methods was proposed. The resource constraints were taken as a primary basis in first stage to eliminate the resource nodes which were not qualified for functional requirements. Extensive theory was used to select outstanding individual nodes as candidate into the optimization of resources in the optimization process will be interactive entities logistics process right time and cost of the process Multi-objective optimization model, and the optimization problem for the shortest path problem is solved. Finally, a numerical example is given.
