Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology is one of the core technologies ofInternet of Things. It has great potentials in induction, identification and trackingapplications due to its advantages such as large data storage capacity, fast write/read speed, good data security, and superior physical properties, anti-collision and content modifiable. The development of a complete RFID system includes development of reader system andRFID tag system. According to different conditions, the demands of a RFID applicationsystem in protocol, frequency, field range vary. This paper makes efforts in building adevelopment platform in both hardware and software, to develop RFID tag and relativeapplication system that can meet corresponding demands efficiently. The paper studies a series of key issues including architecture design, module division, system implementation and test scheme. Firstly, the paper proposes a new RFID tag chip andsystem development and verification platform based on the introduction of working principleof RFID, including RFID tag chip emulation subsystem and RFID reader subsystem.Secondly, the paper introduces the design and implementation of the system. The readersubsystem is based on MCU controlled analog front-end chip, which helps testing chipemulation subsystem. Chip emulation subsystem is based on FPGA platform, with RFIDanalog front-end circuits and EEPROM memory chips built on it, and of which the FPGAdesign scalable baseband to meet customed development of different application conditions. Finally, the paper specifically describes the test process of waveforms of main signal nodesand the main communication instructions, giving the operation situation of the system andthe test results.
