RFID is short for Radio Frequency Identification. RFID technology is non-contactcommunication by wireless RF technology, achieving readers the recognition of target. RFIDsystems consist of two parts, one part is the RFID tag, another part is the RFID reader. tagsare the carrier of information, it is recognized or items being monitored closely; readers readand write tags information via radio frequency channels, to obtain information of items. It canbe applicate in objection location, real time monitoring and so on.RFID’s origins can be traced back to the earliest identification of enemy targets in thefirst world war. with the extension of the application of RFID technology, in mobileapplications it requires smaller of the read volume and more stable performance. At present,as the development of sensor networks, smart processors, mobile Internet technologies, RFIDtechnology are forming a complete industry chain--Internet of things (IOT), and appear moreapplications. Such as, transport application, industrial automation, smart grid, smart home,logistics, security, military, persons, vehicles, asset management, apparel, books, home fieldof intelligent, urban management, environmental monitoring and the formation of a maturesolution.First, summary the history of RFID technology and the current main areas of application,and study the the largest RFID reader manufacturers in international market, and made a briefanalysis on the development of future RFID technology. Presentation the communicationtheory and the key technologies in application of RFID system; analysis of RFID frequencyclassification, application of different types of tags as well as three of the most widely usedinternational standards.Then,based on the current hottest stardard EPC C1GEN2RFID Protocol, a reader IPsoftcore is designed in this paper, improving the development of single-chip reader; and toimprove the performance of reader we analysis the fator affecting the reader performance, anda new decoding algorithm is proposed; at last,proposed a novel study of RFID application,which new technologies can be used for rotation speed measurement of an object.The main content of this article are:1. Based on VHDL language, an IP soft-core is designed for EPC C1GEN2Protocol.Board-level simulation and testing are given at last, bedding for the single-chip readerdesign. Coding and decoding, timing requirements and data rate control for communication of the EPC C1GEN2standard are analysised detaily。2. A improved FM0error correction algorithms and improvement of symbolsynchronization technology are proposed, improved receiver performance comprehensivly.Based on the study of receiver architecture, we analysis the signal and noise performance; forzero-IF receiver, the noise filter module, DC offset correction module are researched.3. Based on RFID technology, this paper introduce a new method for rotation speedmeasurement of objects, by detecting the phase difference of linear polarization of UHF RFIDtags, when the tag is rotating. Compared with other speed measurement method, it canachieve non-contact distance measuring, and raise the transmitting power to increasemeasurement distance, especially for the speed measurement that need non-contact situation.
