The guns are the most widely used weapons according to the survey of worldmilitary weaponry,however there are a variety of problems in the process of using andtraining the guns, it is necessary to establish a virtual system for firearms training. Virtualsystem for drilling guns development goals are: First,Let the soldiers experience shooting,overcome the fear and tension; Second,Coordinate the Realistic firearms training,Complete the training task.Virtual firearms training system consists of two subsystems, show subsystem andshooting subsystem. In the system of show subsystem, the gun model is established byusing VRML, while showing the gun, constructed three display behavior: mobile behavior,rotational behavior and scaling behavior. In the process of establishing thethree-dimensional models, in order to achieve the rapid modeling, used3D modelingsoftware, such as3DMAX, Photoshop. In the subsystem of shooting, the systemenvironment is the three-dimensional space created by the use of Java3D panoramic spaceterrain technology, the space is defined as an infinite space cube. It has six sides, the floorside use terrain rendering technology and the others use pseudo-3D technology to simulaterealistic landscape. In the three-dimensional space, use a loader class to load the gunmodels and other models. Guns interactive behavior was built to browse guns andsimulate shooting. In order to enhance the realism of the system, illumination model andsmoke model was added.In the system development process, in order to ensure every function of the system,black-box testing technology is used for functional testing. In the system requirementsanalysis, there are three functions: firearms show, scenes roaming and Simulation shooting.The test results show that the analysis of the functional requirements of the systemdesigned to meet the system requirements, achieve the design goal successfully.
