With the development of Virtual Reality and related technologies, people are paying more and more attention to Digital Earth, Digital China and Digital City. The modeling technology of virtual scene has become a research focus at home and abroad in recent years, which has broad practical value and bright application prospects.VRML(Virtual Reality Modeling Language) is the main language for modeling the virtual scene currently. However, in accordance with the three dimension scene, it is difficult to directly get the accurate data and quickly organize the scene entities into a more complicated virtual scene. Aimed at these difficulties, the quick modeling method for virtual scene is proposed. It is easy to solve the problems of data sources and composition of the scenes by drawing graphic units on the scene plan. Then it takes advantages of drawing, interactive texture mapping with the thin cuboids to build the buildings, and the roads are rapidly generated by using the drawing method, Furthermore it is quick to achieve the realistic simulation by using the Terrain Trend Rise and interactive 3D terrain modification method in the absence of real terrain data, so that the speed of the modeling is increased. The campus scene of Beijing University of Chemical Technology has been successfully developed, which demonstrates the feasibility of the method, and provides a new thought for quick building of virtual scene.Moreover the cylindrical panorama technology in the modeling methods of virtual scene is analyzed, and the cylindrical panorama system has been realized by using pixel filling method, bilinear interpolation algorithm and image mosaic algorithm based on the characteristic line with Visual C++ programming. The system realizes the cylindrical projection, image mosaic and image fusion.
