With the development of the society and improvement of technology, therequirement for the quality and performance of concrete is becomingincreasingly stringent in the industrial production. The ruggedness and durabilityof concrete have a direct impact on construction, buildings, bridges, etc. With theemergence of concrete admixtures, this problem solved. When added in theconcrete, naphthalene superplasticizer, a kind of concrete additives can not onlyreduce the use of concrete, but also obviously improve the performance index ofconcrete. Therefore, it has been widely used in engineering and constructionindustry.For a long period, in the concrete admixture production industry, small andmedium enterprises occupied the large amount in China. These enterprises stillapply the traditional production method which features traditional manualcontrol, consuming large number of human resources but resulting in relativelylower productivity. Obviously, this traditional method cannot meet therequirements of complex production process. Additionally, since naphthalenesuperplasticizer is a chemical product, in the production process, not only doesthe staff have to work in a bad environment which features high temperature andhigh pressure for long hours, but also there often exist flammable, explosive,corrosive or even toxic substances, which largely threatens these occupants’health.This project is commissioned by Harbin Institute of Technology StrongStone Concrete Technology Development Limited Company, focusing on thecurrent manual production of naphthalene superplasticizer which leads to lowerproduction efficiency, imprecise control parameters and poor product quality.The project is about the redevelopment of automation technology and the designof system with the appliance of control theory, control systems, moderncommunication technology and computer management system, aiming to achievethe automated control and monitoring of the naphthalene superplasticizer’sproduction.This article describes the production process of naphthalenesuperplasticizer and process requirements. The development of the overall program is based on the production process and requirements of chemicalprocess. Additionally, the PID control methods are taken in the control oftemperature parameters. In system hardware aspects, sensors, smart meters,digital/analog input and output modules, valves are carried out in selection anddesign, also the industrial PC is selected to control the entire production system.In software aspects, Kingview software is chosen as a upper computermonitoring software, which is connected with lower computer by communicationequipments, achieving the data exchange between these two equipments. Then,the control of the whole production process is achieved through the use ofcommand language programming. Finally, human machine interface has beendesigned so that the operator could conduct the real-time monitoring of theproduction process. Additionally, data display, storage, alarm and other functionsare still achieved. Through the commission of the system, data analysis andcomparison of process parameters requirements, not only does automatic controlon the production of naphthalene superplasticizer could be achieved, but alsoprocess parameters can be met.
