The Automatic System Of DMC Process Control

Dimethyl Carbonate (DMC), as a new chemical product, draws considerable attention in recent years. It is a colorless and transparent liquid with melting point 4℃and boiling point 90.3℃, can be mixed with organic solvents such as alcohols, ketones, esters etc in any proportion. In 1992, DMC was listed as the non-toxic chemical product in Europe. Because of its good reactivity, it can replace extremely toxic phosgene as carbonylating agents, or replace DMS as methylating agent. Thus, as the green intermediates, DMC has the special importance for the environment and is considered as the new foundation of organic synthesis.Production units of DMC need to take full advantage of its function and produce qualified product efficiently, which all largely depend on the performance of the automatic control system of the facilities. Therefore, the main task of the paper is to build up a sound processing control system with fully application of automatic control, computer science and communication technology.This paper aimed at the research of DMC units in Tongling Jintai Chemical Company. It mainly discusses status of the chemical industry automation, especially of medium-small sized companies in China and abroad. The control methods of rectification tower, pressurized rectification tower and batch rectification tower were also carefully discussed. Based on the above, the paper also presents the parallel control strategy of multi-tower, solving the problems of coupling connection and delayed response of towers, which helps to restrain the interference of the control system. With the purpose of improving the autoimmunization of the chemistry product line, this paper proposes the solution to upgrading the former surveillance system by instrument to the computer network control system of DMC. The upgraded system realizes the functions of data acquisition, storage, recording, transmission, display of various modes, printing and data access, which leads to the reestablishment of the control configuration and network system.According to the logistics automation structure, we take grade promotion of DMC control system. For example, the intelligent digital will be installed to realize remote surveillance. Also, the comprehensive automatic control will be carried out, which include Process Control System (PCS), Manufacturing Execution System (MES), Business Planning System (BPS). By doing that, the management layer can acquire the production information as soon as possible, and then they can make the real time analysis and decision. The enterprise information management can help the company to reduce the storage and shift to production model of market oriented.The research work not only upgrades the automation control level of Jintai Chemical Company, but also gives an example for the technical innovation of middle-small sized enterprises.
