With the development of the process of economic globalization, the modern logisticsindustry is showing steady growth, barcode technology has been widely used in cargomanagement. The market’s need for wireless barcode collection terminal is more and moreurgent. Until now, the barcode collection terminal which uses several types of wirelesscommunication is rare. Furthermore, the price is very expensive. Besides, in the transmissionprocess of wireless barcode, lots of wireless barcode collection terminals adopt GPRS’technology and the low transmission speed of this technology will become a problem oncondition that logistics industry’s requirement in information’s accuracy and immediacy ismore and more high. Fortunately, thanks to wide cover, high data transmission’s rate andadvanced internet interface security system,3G communication of technology can probide asolution for these industries which have large number of data transmission and highrequirements for security, accuracy and immediacy. In this paper, we will design and realizeone kind of wireless barcode collection terminal which integrates3G and Wi-Fi to solve thetwo problems mentioned above.The paper will design the core circuit board based on S5PV210processor of Samsungcorporation, and design the external interface circuit for wireless transmission usingSIM5320E3G module and APM6658Wi-Fi module, which depends on the functionalrequirement and goals. Then we shall have set up the system hardware development platform.Based on that, we choose Android2.2embedded operating system as the softwaredevelopment platform, transplant uboot Android core and file system, and hence set upAndroid2.2performance system. After that, the paper designed and achieved the applicationsoftware of the relevant module, which includes serial port communication module (hardwareabstract level, Java Native Interface and Application Programming Interface’ s realization), 3G communication module, Wi-Fi communication module and the user interface module’srealization and so on. In the end, the hardware and software of wireless barcode acquisitionterminal has been completed.The developed wireless barcode collection terminal can use the3G or Wi-Fi wirelesstransmission to transmit the barcode data. So that it can ensure data collection’s reliability,security and practicality. The terminal achieved the desired objectives. It owns better marketprospect because of its higher cost performance.
