As an indispensable technology in the field of flat panel display,3D display hascome into people’s lives gradually. With the rapid development of displaytechnologies, the3D display has been diversified into many types, and the shutterglasses3D has become the main type of3D display technologies. However, when wewatch the LCD TV with glasses, we cannot see the screen normally without glasses.So what makes the2D screen displaying compatibly in the3D screen will be anecessary technology.The paper proposed a method, which including the image processingcompensation, octave controlling, backlight and glasses controlling. The method canmake2D screen displaying in the3D TV simultaneously.The first chapter mainly introduces the background, the status and developmentof3D display. At the same time, we describe the significance of the research and thestructure of the paper. The second chapter explain the classification of3D displaytechnologies in detail, as well their advantages and disadvantages. The third chapterelaborates the principle of the compatible display system from LCD, backlight andshutter glasses.Chapter four and five is the key of this article. Firstly, we introduce the design ofthe system, backlight, circuit, and algorithm based on the compatible display forshutter glasses. Algorithm design details image compensation and frequencymultiplication control. Secondly, we form the compatible system LCD based on theprinciple and complete the system, which including backlight, quality and OD. Finally,we put forward a series of evaluation method applied for the compatible systemaccording to3D evaluation method, which we use evaluating the system.The results of this thesis for the LCD TV will be used in expanding the technology foundation of display function.
