Display technology is an important part of the imaging system, besides, as part of information technology, it attracts too much money and time. With the development of modern science and technology, display technology makes information to be presented in front of everyone in a more realistic way. Increasingly sophisticated display technology allows people to have more realistic visual experience. Currently, the glasses stereoscopic display has entered into a part of people’s lives, and it provides the users with unprecedented stereoscopic display, which enhance the user experience greatly. However, there are still some shortcomings in stereoscopic technology, so advanced research is needed to make stereoscopic display technology to be more perfect. This paper focuses on the crosstalk in the stereoscopic displays. Firstly, the concept and cause of crosstalk of stereoscopic display is introduced. Secondly, the impact of crosstalk on stereoscopic displays is researched with experiment. Thirdly, previous crosstalk research is only focused on the white field, however, stereoscopic display provides us with a colorful screen, so in this paper, crosstalk under different chromaticity is measured. Further, crosstalk under different chromaticity is measured with retinal luminance meter. Compared with the traditional luminance meter, the advantage of it is that it will not lead into spectral luminous efficiency V(λ). Next, the viewing angle of flat panel display is decided by luminance of screen, chromaticity and contrast; however, with the increase of viewing angle, the crosstalk of stereoscopic display may increase sharply, which will downgrade the user experience. Therefore, this paper focuses on the relationship between crosstalk and viewing angle of polarized stereoscopic display and shutter stereoscopic display, which could provide some reference for standard-making. Finally, as to shutter stereoscopic display, a large proportion of crosstalk of TV is caused by the LCD glasses. Therefore, the proportion under different chromaticity could be acquired by experiments, which could provide reference for downgrading crosstalk. This paper contains six chapters. The first chapter is an introduction, which describes the current 3D display technology, the stereoscopic display research development of the international and the domestic and the imaging principle of stereoscopic display, the problems in stereoscopic display and it’s one of the most serious problem:crosstalk. The second chapter describes the structure of the human eye as well as the basic concepts and theoretical of photometry and chromaticity, and there are the theoretical basis for the latter experiments. The third chapter describes the current classification of stereoscopic display technology is introduced. There are three parts, glasses stereoscopic display technology, naked-eye stereoscopic display technology and holographic stereoscopic display technology. Besides, their advantages and disadvantages and the causes of crosstalk are introduced. In the fourth chapter, the effects of crosstalk on stereoscopic display color gamut are researched, the test results show that, because of the crosstalk, the color gamut in stereoscopic has decreased, besides, different crosstalk signals make different decrease of color gamut in stereoscopic display. Crosstalk of stereoscopic display under different chromaticity based on luminance has been measured, and the test result shows that:crosstalk distribution is not uniform in different chromaticity, the crosstalk in green field is the most severe, followed by white field, followed by red field, followed by blue field. furthermore, crosstalk of stereoscopic display under different chromaticity has been measured with retinal luminance meter, and the test shows that the new method has credibility but need further analysis. In the fifth chapter, the relationship between viewing angle and crosstalk of polarized stereoscopic display and shutter stereoscopic display has been measured and analyzed; furthermore, in the shutter stereoscopic display mode, the proportion of crosstalk caused by shutter glasses accounted for the overall crosstalk has been measured and analyzed. In the sixth chapter, the content of this paper has been summarized and the deficiencies has been pointed out, what’s more, the next step is prospected.
