| Geographic Information System (GIS) is a combination of the space science andinformation science, and is involved many technologies such as geography, graphics,CAD, database technology. GIS has been applied successfully to many fields such asresource management, city and region layout, transportation, etc. Remarkable social andeconomic benefits have been made for the applications of GIS.Firstly this paper explains the basic concepts, the types, and the contruction of GIS,then discusses the approaches to implement a GIS, and shows the disadvantages oftraditional GIS. The grid computing technology and the contruction of GIS areresearched, and based on this work, the architecture of GIS is studied,and a GIS isimplemented.Firstly, this paper introduces the background, the content studied and thesignificance of the task, and the author’s main work and the arrangement of this paperare given in it. Then it explains the basic concepts, the types, and the contruction of GIS,and discusses the present situation and the developments of a GIS, and shows thedisadvantages of traditional GIS, explains the main products and structures, introducethe main technologies to implement a GIS, and discusses the approaches to implement aGIS. And based on this work, this paper analyzes the requirements of all modules ofGIS, and presents the total architecture of GIS, and discusses the main technologies toimplement it, and showes the concrete implemention of the system, including the classdiagram with UML of the main classes, the key logic of the system as well as thecondition of test and tryout of the system. Finaly, this paper sums up the content studied,and introduces the innovation and the utility of the system, and prospects the futurework of the task. |
