With the rapid development of national meteorological modernization, themeteorological department is also accelerating the pace of automatic station building.The ability of Automatic observation strengthens constantly and the observationprojects were increasing constantly. The transmission network congestion occuredfrequently because of the increasing of observational data. It affect the data transmissionrate and timely station business assessment seriously. In order to solve this problem, thispaper designed an automatic weather station monitoring and warning platform systembased on routine surface observation business requirements.In this paper, the development status of automatic weather stations was described.It includes the principle of the automatic station and the background of the studycontent. It points out the basic basis for monitoring and warning platform design ofautomatic station and the design of software requirement analysis. With these theoreticalbasis and requirement analysis, the structure of the system operation principle diagramwas designed. According to the system structure design, automatic weather stationnetwork and warning platform in the software part is divided into three modules. Thethree modules are network link monitor module, sending to routing monitoring moduleand automatic SMS sending module. On the other hand, the system use thecharacteristics of visual programming of VB to integrate the three modulesinto into anunified monitoring platform. This paper describes how to design several modules andhow to integrate the three modules into an unified platform. Then, the paper also givesome maps of each module work after the completion of the platform.Finally, the network monitoring and warning platform automatic weather stationare evaluated. It points out some problems during the design and some part which willbe improved in the futrue. At the last of this paper, the conclusion of the study wasshowed through software sysytem testing and the future prospects of this study wasmade.
