With the development of technology, more and more grounding devices appear.Grounding resistance is one of the most important physical indexes in modern lightningprotection engineering. Grounding resistance can directly affect the ground potentialdistribution, the contact-voltage, and the step-voltage. So, the measurement ofgrounding resistance is very important.The traditional method for grounding resistance measurement is to test and recordmanually, which cannot reflect a period of continuous change of grounding resistancedue to the manual test is discontinue. For application where continuous observation isdesired, automatic acquisition test should be applied. Today, the importance of safetyproduction and safety life is well recognized, the traditional method for lightningprotection device test can not satisfy the requirement. So, people need a groundingresistance tester which can work for a long-term and automatically. It has great realisticsignificance to achieve the automatic measurement for soil parameters base on theexisting technology.In order to meet the remote automatic observation service demand, a remotegrounding resistance monitoring system is designed, which can monitor the groundingresistance in one point or even multiple points un-interruptedly. The whole systemincludes two parts: grounding resistance automatic monitoring system and the dataprocessing terminal. Grounding resistance automatic monitoring system consists ofthree modules, namely, the data acquisition module, automatic control and wirelesstransmission module. Grounding resistance or grounding resistance network dataacquisition, transmission, processing and display caresn be achieved through the system.All data is acquired and processed automatically, regularly. First of all, the automaticcontrol module make the clock chip timing, then the control data acquisition module isresponsible for collecting the ground resistance. After the data acquisition modulecomplete the grounding resistance measurement, data will be sent to the automaticcontrol module for processing, and the data will be packed and sent to the dataprocessing terminal through the GPRS module. Meanwhile, in order to prevent data loss, a serial FLASH is used to complete the data backup storage in the automatic controlmodule. Computer terminal control and display module is responsible for the wholedata display and statistical processing. On the other hand, command can also beartificial send to the automatic control module, and achieve the remote manualoperation function.
