Generally, in the practical application of ZigBee wireless sensor networks, sensor nodes are very small and mostly use battery supply for power, meanwhile during the using process it is difficult to charge the battery or replace the battery, so the energy of the node is very limited. Thus always made node failure because of the limitation of the energy depltion.Due to the energy limitation of sensor nodes in zigbee wireless sensor network,the real-time monitoring system of ZigBee wireless sensor networks is seriously prevented. So how to reduce energy consumption and prolong the life time of the network is a prinipal problem in this research domain.Firstly,this paper introduces the basic knowledge and characteristics of the wireless sensor network and then in the second part,based on the analysis of network configure,network topology, network formation and network address assignment mechanism of ZigBee,the routing protocols of ZigBee are analyzed deeply.The idea and the operation process of ZigBee are introduced in detail,and constructs star and two kinds of tree type networks to make simulation and analysis with ZBR, AODVjr and Cluster-Tree protocols for their Packet Delivery Rate,Average Hops, Average End-to-End Delay and Routing Overhead performances.At last, from the perspective of balanced consumption of the whole network power, proposed the improved ZigBee tree routing algorithm based On energy-balanced and ZigBee EA-AODV algorithm based on energy-balanced in the interest of saving the network's energy and prolonging its lifetime.The neighbor table was introduced to make sure that the routing is local optimal by considering the routing hops in the improved zigbee tree routing.Two methods both make all the nodes divide into different energy levels which can react to the routing according to their own energy levels in the process of data transferring. This can avoid choosing the nodes which have low remain energy and prolong the network's lifetime.At the same time,this paper uses Simulation Software NS2 to simulate these two improved routing algorithms and the analysis indicates that the consumption was reduced efficiently, the problem of load-unbalanced was soloved,and the lifetime of the network was prolonged.
