The Research Of Knowledge Base Of University Library Reference Service

With the development of the21stcentury,“knowledge-based” and “intelligentization”has become the theme of the world’s modern development. Development of networktechnology and the popularization of the Internet enables libraries to change the traditionalpattern of information consulting, thus information consulting knowledge base is able togenerate and continuously develops. The application of knowledge base in libraries startedlate in China, and the construction and the research of the knowledge base in libraries willhelp university libraries rationalize library resources, play knowledge to maximizeefficiency and better serve the majority of readers. The author proceeds from the definitionof the knowledge base to explore the role of the library information consulting knowledgebase. Through the survey analysis of domestic and foreign information consultingknowledge base, the existing problems of China’s university library informationconsulting knowledge base can be found. The library of Hunan Arts College is taken as anexample to research the strategies of building library information consulting knowledgebase.Firstly, referring to the basic theory of consulting knowledge base, the origin andfunction of the knowledge base, the development of network technology and theimprovement of informationization is explored. Since users put forward higherrequirements for the use of knowledge, the library information consulting services andknowledge base should be combined. The characteristics of openness, interactivity,sharing, dynamic and neutrality of information consulting knowledge base are with highvalue. For example, raising the efficiency of the library information consulting work isconducive to strengthen the knowledge management of the university library, and ishelpful for the promotion of the university knowledge exchange and sharing.Secondly, through the analysis of the construction status of library informationconsulting knowledge base of domestic and foreign universities, and through the surveyanalysis focused on several large domestic knowledge bases of information consultation,the main problems of our university libraries can be extracted, including the short ofcontent, the unclearness of the knowledge classification system, the control mechanismsneed to be further improved, the imperfect evaluation system, and the backwardness of themaintenance and updates, as well as the lack of personalized service.Thirdly, taking Hunan Arts College as an example, the solutions to the construction of the knowledge base of the university library advisory are proposed. From the aspects,including the target location, functional layout, quality control, system maintenance andupdates, the protection of privacy and intellectual property, as well as policy support, theproblems in the building process of university libraries are stated in the essay.
