With the development of network video technology, large video surveillance and security system is built on complex IP networking basic as a general rule. But due to the limitation of various network access conditions, digital video is difficult to be shared under the environment of multiple networks based on single technology. It needs to structure a flexible streaming media server system to satisfy the visiting requirements of real-time video and record from users under different network environments. The development of HD video technology creates a new challenge for video surveillance system. Traditionally using devices such as digital video recorder to store SD low-resolution video cannot satisfy the requirement of HD high-resolution video.In complex video monitoring system, it needs to provide distribution, transfer and format conversion services to cope with a variety of network environments. Network video surveillance and security system demands large capacity, high performance, high reliability, flexible deployment and high cost-effective in terms of streaming media storage.Background high-speed development of HD network video system, based on GStreamer framework, flexible and high-performance streaming media server system used in video system is researched, it is used to serve video access, video visiting and storage of unicast, multicast and on demand; Researching to use iSCSI technology, and IPSAN network storage device to enforce high-performance streaming media storage system in the form of fixed-length disk block.According to the design of system, prototype system has been implemented, and system performance test is proceeded. The test result shows that the system is provided with the functions of distribution and transfer for big bandwidth streaming media and high-performance storage.The streaming media server system designed in the document can fully content the requirements of complex video monitoring system based on computer networks. Under GStreamer, different media encoding and transmission protocols can be inset, the system has good expansibility; To enforce streaming media storage on the device that supports iSCSI protocol using the method of direct-to-write disk block, independent on any file system, can avoid disk fragments created by file system so as to improve utilization and retrieval efficiency of the storage device, meanwhile reduces stability influences of from file system to streaming media storage.The achievement of the document provides a favorable reference for the development of HD network video surveillance and security systems.
