Media Literacy originated from Britain in the1930s, and then becamewidespread in western countries quickly. At present, the countries like Britain, Canada, the United States and etc. have already developed a relatively excellent educationsystem in Media Literacy. By contrast, it is still in the infancy of media literacy in ourcountry. With the constant advance of technology science, media has already becomean indispensable part of people’s life. In the face of increasingly media and complexmedia environment, even undergraduates as pioneers in developing social and culturalknowledge of society are unable to clear and protect themselves from media well. Atthis point, the development of Media Literacy is particularly important to humans. The article used methods of literature review, questionnaire and interview, hasresearched and surveyed the conditions of Media Literacy in parts of universitiesthrough the eyes of teachers and college students. However, the results of that looknot so good. Some bad phenomenon among undergraduates and universities, such aslack of awareness of the media literacy importance, just a few courses about medialiteracy and the absent raining in teachers’skills, all are so common nowadays. Therefore, one of the purposes of my paper is to analyze these problems and discussthe possible feasible solutions.Secondly, by analyzing the problems among system of Media Literacy curriculumin universities, meanwhile, based on statistical data from the survey, I try to putforward an innovative media literacy curriculum system. Like math, English, basicphysics courses have already become compulsory basic courses learned by students inuniversities, the curriculum in Media Literacy should also be seen as a verysignificant and basic class in all academic institution. Hence, from the perspective ofcompulsory class, Media Literacy must be taught as an indispensable ability whichwill help students’ even humans to protect themselves from cheating, hurting andunhappiness by mass media. At last, hopefully, my study will provide our Media Literacy development with afew references.
