In order to replace the artificial detection mode for years, China MeteorologicalBureau has begun to spread the atmospheric monitoring automation projects overChina since2001. In recent years, with the development of meteorological detectionprojects, the elements have developed from national stations of the automatic detectionto synthetical meteorology net composed of national stations and mesoscale encryptionobservation station as auxiliary during2001. And, the data volume is from one setevery hour up to now one set every minute. Therefore, the preservation and the usageof these large data will be the key problem in meteorological detection area.The observation meteorology data in Anhui Province, sent to the ProvincialBureau of center server using two transmissions—FTP and UDP, has been sent toChina Meteorological Bureau as text file packing format for several years. Theefficient and the operation speed of local meteorological people is low when they readthese large number of text files, and this process can make the center server enormouspressure. Therefore, in order to solve the problems of automatic weather station datausage, a high-quality database server and the Web data query server should be built. Itis a positive and practical job. At present the provincial meteorological informationnetwork query is still in early stage in China. They write program to translate themeteorological detection data files into the formation files that can be identified by aMicaps system for calling.The main purpose of this issue is to construct a database based on the SQL Server2005. The meteorological data uploads from observation site can be processeddecomposed by the database, and be provided by network graphical query through B/S. The main content is to establish a powerful SQL Server2005database on centerserver in Anhui Meteorology Bureau, and the Win32program can be written byDelphi7. Meteorological elements of each observation station can be composeddecomposed, and write to database for saving. Considering the mass of themeteorological data, the database will be necessary for the structural design andoptimization. The database will be storage classification data annual or monthly forcalling by SQL store procedure exchange. The stability and efficient of the databasewill be improved. Through the network to users query, using Microsoft Visual C#.Net as the development platform, database will be written Web server webpage program. Agraphical query mode will use a map file. Considering our weather query only use thegeographic information composed of latitude, longitude, provincial boundary, countyboundary, rivers etc., therefore, in this subject the popular and advanced SVG filebasing on XML language was used as the background map. SVG is an open standardtext vector graphic description language. The usage of SVG can show a variety ofhigh-quality vector in the webpage. The key aspect is SVG described completely bytext. It is a specially graphics format designed for Internet, basing on text format, and itis based on the XML (Extensible Markup Language) language. The expansibility ofSVG is strong, and it can describing arbitrary complex image.
