Android is an open-sourcing OS developed by Google, it is based on Linux kernel andvery popular on embedded portable device. And in those devices, such as mobile phone, tablets pc and etc, lasting power supply is still unsolved and researched by many developers. With electron integrated circuits’ developments, the CPU and its peripheral devices becomesmaller and run faster, and also take more consumption from laptop batteries. The conflictbetween high-performance and low power consumption turns into more sharp as people’senvironmental awareness grows and battery technology lags behind. Then power managementtechnology came out to solve this problem, using efficient power allocation. It was generallyused on PC and servers and became proved on them. When it comes to embedded devices, itmoves along slowly for multiple running conditions and lack of cooperation. Neither onecompatible standard, nor power management software is approved up to now. A good powermanagement plan can save more power, extend battery and device life, reduce radiation, andalso bring better user experience and less environment pollution. Therefore, it is verymeaningful to research and improve existing power management technologies to meet peoplerequest. The power management software will shift CPU into certain states when it is not busy toreduce power consumption. To control peripheral devices’ consumption is also very importantfor entire system because they use same battery to CPU. So they must be planned whendesigned. Only by this way can the system use lower consumption and perform better. One dynamic power management on Android platform is proposed in this article, basedon experienced threshold value-controlled deep sleep plan and LMS theory, according tostatic and dynamic power management concepts, theories and existing Algorithms.
