With the rapid progress of semiconductor technology and wirelesscommunication network technology, the embedded system has expandedits application field from professional controlling, computing andcommunication equipments to smart wireless communication terminals;and the embedded smart phone terminals have being widely used inpeople’s life. Smart phone is of course the first choice of people’s mobileoffice equipment as its nice looking and rich application software tools.The wide use of smart phone marks that the intelligent wireless networkera is coming.To achieve the smart and wireless networking usage, lots ofperipherals have been added to embedded devices; and lots of multimedia,graphics and networking application software have been widely used inthese systems. This brings a big issue which embedded smart phone userscomplain most, the endurance time of the battery is so short; and theperformance of the battery has become one of the most figures whenpeople select smart phone products.To solve the short endurance time of the battery in the smart phoneembedded system, this paper has first annualized the modules of powermanagement in embedded system; and then has presented powermanagement strategy. The emphasis has been put on the powermanagement software architecture and its software implementation.Lastly, this paper has introduced the way to determine minimum powerconsumption in embedded systems; and has also introduced the way oftesting and verifying low power consumption in embedded system.
