Vacuum booster with BA function is the vacuum booster with emergencybrake function. As a key component of braking system, the performance of vacuumbooster directly relates to the stability and security of braking system. It is importantto test its comprehensive performance. But the test equipments of domestic small andmedium vacuum booster manufacturers can only detect input-output characteristics,seal and do not include BA function, air travel, reaction-release time detection. Andthe test equipments have low test accuracy. In response to these problems, design acomprehensive performance detection system for vacuum booster with BA functionto realize the tests for emergency braking function, seal, input-output characteristics,air travel and reaction-release time. The contents are as follows:Firstly, the paper briefly describes the differences in structure and workingprinciple between vacuum booster with BA and conventional vacuum booster.Analyze the major test items of vacuum booster with BA. Based on analysis ofdynamic balance for the first time, establish a non-BA state vacuum booster model inAMESim simulation. And analyze the effect of loading speed on power ratio.Provide the theoretical base for loading speed selection.Secondly, analyze the test requirements of the major test items based onindustry standards and manufacturer requirements. Design an overall test program ofcomprehensive performance detection system for vacuum booster with BA accordingto the test requirements. Based on the overall test programme requirements, designand implement clamping body, loading mechanism, vacuum systems, pneumaticsystems and hardware control circuit of the measurement system. Using VisualC++6.0programming environment for development, testing software realizesparameter setting, process control, data acquisition, data storage, motion control andfault response modules.Thirdly, experiment with the standard sample provided by manufacturer.Experimental data show that the force measurement precision of detection system up to1N, vacuum measurement accuracy up to0.01kPa, displacement measurementaccuracy up to0.01mm. And according to JBT10633-2006standard, calculate theduplicate index Cgand accurate index Cgkof each test project. Testing data show thedetection system meets the new equipment acceptance requirements. Finally haveloading speed test in the detection system. The result meets the simulation results.
