With the rapid development of multimedia video technology, low-cost and high-qualityvideo compression technology is becoming more and more important. It combines numbers ofcomputers, multimedia, communications and network technologies, which is becoming one offocus for researchers and having a broad application prospect and research value.Combined with the actual demend, this paper starts with the current popular video codingstandard MPEG-4to design a complete MPEG-4video sever. This paper studies the keytechnology of the MPEG-4encoding standard, which include the coding of motion informationcoding, texture information coding, quantization and other technology. And motion estimationalgorithm, DCT transformation and quantization have been optimized in this paper. Then thispaper uses BF561dual-core high-performance processor as the core hardware. On this basis, thispaper implements the video capture and compression hardware design and softwareprogramming.After testing and analysis, the video server designed and implemented in this paper canaccomplish D1video format real-time capture and compression encoding functions.
