Optimization Of MPEG-4 Compression Algorithms And The Impletation On ARM ADS

With the rapidly developing of mobile communication, mobile multimedia operation domain enlargs promptly.Vedio/Audio compression and coding technique is one of the most important techniques about mobile multimedia operations. And it is difficult to develop a perfect video encoder on motion terminal, because on the one hand, Vedio/Audio compression encoding is very complex, on the other hand, the hardware processor's account capability is limited. The optimizing of Vedio/Audio encoder is imperative to resolve this problem.For this reason, this paper does some work on optimizing MPEG-4 compression algorithms. The optimizion is done based on MPEG-4 open source XviD, and then is tested on ARM Developer Suite (ADS) version 1.2. By the analysis about XviD, we find that the motion estimation and texture coding technique are two of the most complex part in MPEG-4 encoding process.
