With the rapid development of the Web2.0social software and social networking, social network become more powerful. The development of the social network provides new opportunities for the evaluation of library digital resources. Library users not only are the receivers of library information resources, but also the participants and the evaluators of library information resources construction."The evaluation model of library digital information resources with users’participation under the social network environment" is: the library draws lessons from social network’s theories and methods, digs out some resources which users are interested in but can not be found in library, using the way of organizing users to participate in library digital resources’evaluation, selection and collecting through direct and stimulating measures, which relies on social software and social networking sites. And eventually, the library integrates the digital resources evaluated and selected bu users into the digital collection system.At present, the theories and practices of library digital information resources’ evaluation with users’participation under the social network environment are at the exploratory stage, awaiting further researches and practices. Therefore, this paper firstly overviews the meaning, current related researches and also the theories and practices during each stages, does the investigation in users’participation on university library digital resources’evaluation at home and abroad, and also analyzes the typical cases at the same time in order to provide guidance for the following researches.Secondly, this paper analyzes the application of users’evaluation in the library digital resources from the three aspects of social network relationship theory, structure theory and also the social capital theory. At the same time, it puts forward the targets, methods, the standards of users’participation in library digital resources’evaluation, selection and also collection activities under the social network environment and also the elements and construction of library digital resources’evaluation. On this basis, it puts forward hypothesis model of users’participation in library digital resources’evaluation, selection and collection under the social network environment.In order to understand the demands and the approbation of the participating users under the social network environment from the users’, librarians’and experts’point, this paper does a investigation on22university libraries’997users,237librarians and45experts in the area of Nanjing, Beijing, Shanghai and Xiamen(including Fuzhou), and then analyzes the survey data.Finally, based on the survey data and the analysis of Chongqing University Library’s "My study" empirical activity and Nanjing Agricultural University’s "Nanjing Agricultural University Memory" picture activity, this paper tests and revises the model hypotheses of users ’participation in library digital resources’ evaluation, selection and collection, and also puts forward four suggestions to university libraries ’digital information resources’ evaluation activities users’participation under the social network environment:inspiring users ’enthusiasm to the participation of library digital resources’ evaluation; strengthening the promotion of the social software and social websites; carrying out more multidimensional digital resources evaluation activities with users’needs as the guidance; and also fully playing the role of each element in the evaluation system. It is hoped that this paper can provide a reference to the practice of library digital information resources with users’ participation under the social network environment.
