The importance of university libraries in universities is self-evident.With the progress of university education reform, technological changes, and changes in user needs, university libraries are also facing corresponding challenges. The same is true for university libraries in Myanmar.Users are one of the most important roles of university libraries. They mainly access university libraries through resources and services. In order to discover the current resources and service provision of Myanmar university libraries and the existing problems, and to point out the direction of their development, this research chose to carry out user satisfaction surveys in Myanmar university libraries. This research adopts the research design of quantitative research.Firstly, based on existing research, existing library resources and service evaluation tools(LibQUAL+TM and SERQUAL),this research constructs a user satisfaction evaluation model for university libraries, including conceptual framework design and variable selection, exploratory factor analysis and variables determination, confirmatory factor analysis and exploration of the relationship between variables.Secondly, three typical Myanmar university library users, including University of Yangon(YU)Library,University of Mandalay(MU)Library, and Yadanabon University(YDB)Library, are selected as the research objects. Then, according to random Sampling principle,1160 user workers of various libraries in three universities are selected to conduct a closed questionnaire survey, and perform descriptive statistics based on demographic information,Inferential statistical analysis such as independent t-test,post-hoc test, analysis of variance(ANOVA)and Pearson product moments correlation(r)analysis. Finally, discussions are conducted based on the research findings, and suggestions for the development of three university libraries are given. The research objectives of this research are about following aspects:1)to investigate the perceptions of the library usage and purpose among three universities in Myanmar;2)to explore the satisfaction of users with the existing library resources and service quality among three universities in Myanmar;3)to compare the differences of users’ satisfaction on library resources in terms of three universities in Myanmar’ 4)to compare the satisfaction of users with the existing library service quality among three universities in Myanmar;5)to examine the relationship between library resources and service quality of users’ satisfaction and 6)to compare the differences users’ satisfaction on library information resources and service quality three universities in Myanmar in terms of demographic data.Descriptive statistical analysis found that users of the three university libraries used the library mostly after need arises, followed by regular use of the library 1-2 times a week. The main purpose of users using the library is to contact traditional services such as browsing and borrowing books, followed by other services such as network use and consulting. The frequency of users’ exposure to Internet resources is much higher than that of library resources.Generally, users’ satisfaction with library resources and service quality is generally high, and the average score of service quality evaluation is higher than the average score of resource evaluation. When it comes to the comparative analysis of user satisfaction of the three university libraries, considering the results of the homogeneity test, this research uses Tamhane’s T2 post-hoc pairwise comparison or analysis of variance(ANOVA).The analysis results show that in terms of paper resources(PR),electronic resources(ER),information access(AI),staff services(SS)and library facilities(LF),there is no significant difference in user satisfaction between the University of Yangon(YU)Library and Yadanabon University(YDB)library, and there are significant differences between the two and University of Mandalay(MU)library in user satisfaction.Regarding the correlation between university library resources and service quality satisfaction, this study uses the Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient to analyze. The results reveal that there is a high correlation between university library users’ satisfaction with resources and service quality. It is also observed that the correlation coefficients for all dimensions are ranges from 0.505 to 0.904.Specifically,printed resources are correlated moderately with access to information, staff services and library facilities. It can be interpreted that access to information is the highest correlation, library facilities as the moderate correlation, and staff service as the lowest correlation with printed resources among the independent variable dimensions. The correlation coefficient of electronic resources is also moderate with access to information, staff service and library facilities. It can also be seen that access to information is the highest correlation, library facilities is the moderate correlation and staff service is the lowest correlation with electronic resources among the independent variable dimensions.Differences in user satisfaction in demographic information based on independent t-test,it is found that there are significant differences in the evaluation of resources and service quality by university library users in terms of designation, department, and age group, and there is no significant difference in gender.Specifically, student users have higher evaluations of resources and services than teacher users. The satisfaction of users from science department is higher than the satisfaction of users from art department. The satisfaction of younger user groups is higher than that of older user groups. The deficiency of this research is that the selection of the three university libraries is somehow due to the convenience of research, and cannot well represent the situation of all the Myanmar university libraries.Further research will be conducted.
