Recently, along with the development of economy, the science and technology constantly improving, computer science is maturing day after day. Its formidable function has been known profoundly to the people, and it has entered each domain of the human society and played a more and more important role. The internet grows up rapidly, especially in the network teaching and teaching management. It can not only improve teaching quality, but make it more convenient to manage the teaching resources as well. With the continually development of education in our country, more and more species and mounts of equipments would be used in schools,so it would be an indispensable part in school management to manage those equipments information-basedly and administration of networks.Therefore, it’s realistic significance and function to develop a suit of distributing management information system (MIS) for laboratory equipment management. The first question for discussion in this thesis is to design a suit of project, which will not only satisfy the requirement for the management, but also is compact, reliable and applied. This project will keep some space for function exploitation in order to adapt the new demands in the management.There are some main steps for the software design as follows:To come up with the choices of the system platform and develop project and the technologies to access the system database, on base of studying, analyzing and investigating relative theory and technology; To analyze the requirements and construct the model instances of system with unified modeling language(UML); To design the function modules of system and make function structure charts and flow diagrams; To choose appropriate development languages and development environment to design a user interface, including system logging in interface, system main interface and other interfaces of function modules; The programming implement which the author used to design the system is Active Server Page (ASP), the most popular language which is developed by Microsoft instead of Compute Graphics Interface(CGI); The SQL SERVER2000is used for database so as to improve the execution efficiency and the reliability in data storage.The Interactive Instructional System (IIS) server is used to speed up accessing system and reduce the difficulties of using and maintenance. B/S structure is used for system integral framework in order to centralize managements for data. A client computer just needs to install a webpage browser such as Internet Explorer, which can access to the database and execute application programs in the server. It is easy for a user to log in the system at any time and search the new device information according to his demands. For the equipment manager, it’s easy to manage various types of equipment information and performing some maintenance operations on them according to the needs. Distributed management information system for laboratory equipment basically meets the needs of equipment management in modern colleges and universities.The system provides adequate solutions and implementation methods that can be aimed at management of laboratory equipment such as increase, maintenance and the loan of those equipment. The information system can make management of laboratory equipment high efficiency, convenience, accuracy and safety and play an important role in improving work efficiency and quality. It also can make management of laboratory equipment have a new flight of steps.
