With the development of market economy, the enterprise in our country faces large competitive pressure. So the better enterprise management information system is required urgently in order to adapt the drastic competitive environment. As the leading software of enterprise information, the ERP software has become a tool of enhancing the level of business administration and strengthening the competing force. Inventory management and equipment management are the important subsystems of ERP systems software. Inventory management is the core of the enterprise material management. Valid inventory management can improve the space utilization ratio of the warehouse, reduce the occupation of funds and operating costs, and raise productivity. Scientific equipment management is propitious to ensure the production of high quality and low cost and to complete the task in time. So it is of great importance to study the subsystem of inventory management and equipment management.The main research object of this subject is the inventory management and equipment management subsystem of Eastern Boiler Company's ERP system. The contents are as follows:1. This paper proposes the Browser/Server structure of three-tier as this system's frame. ERP systems based on the mode of B/S have many advantages over that of C/S, such as low development cost, easy to install and maintain, being able torun on different platforms, etc. So it becomes the mainstream of current ERP system.2. The principle of the inventory and equipment management is studied. According to the actual manufacture of Easter Boiler Company, the requirement analyses of the two subsystems are completed, and the data stream and function modules of these subsystem are designed, and then the function modules are developed in detail.3. The database systems of INV and EM are designed in virtue of Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Manage Console. Based on the flow chart of the operation of INV and EM, store procedures are developed.4. The system reaches anticipative effect. The implement of the system proves that it is rational designed and able to be operated conveniently, with a good interface available. It can improve the efficiency of the work greatly.
