With the rapid development of data transmission services, transmission flowgrow rapidly,emerging Internet technologies continue to emerge, improvements of thetransmission speed and quality become more important in the communication process,the traditional networks have become increasingly difficult to adapt to therequirements of modern communication. The EoS(Ethernet over SDH) Technologyachieves the efficient transmission of data services in the SDH network, maximizesthe use of existing network resources and avoids economic investment due to the newnetwork; EoS technology combined with GFP (Generic Framing Protocol), LAPS(Link Access Procedure-SDH), Virtual Concatenation and LCAS (Link CapacityAdjustment Scheme) and other technologies, improve the Ethernet data encapsulationefficiency and the utilization of network bandwidth, and enhance bandwidthflexibility. It can be said that the The EoS further optimizes existing networkresources and provides a higher quality of transmission services.This paper presents the software design of an EoS device Ethernet module. Theequipment is produced by MPC860of Freescale as the CPU, SE0171of Xi’an ShenyaElectronics Co., Ltd. as the system master chip, by deploying SE0171’s configurationregisters and Ethernet port, optical port, EoS parameters of the equipment withsoftware, achieves GFP, LAPS, Virtual Concatenation and LCAS technologies suchas in EoS device, complets the data transmission between the Ethernet port andoptical port in the device. Under the control of the network management software, bydeploying parameters to configure, the Ethernet signal can transmit in the SDHnetwork, data achieve interoperability between the device’s Ethernet port and othervendors’ equipment, data transmission services can be efficient and accurate. Bytesting of the Ethernet tester, Two EoS devices can transfer data accurately andquickly through the optical fiber.
